I am unbelievably proud of the work Cade put into this piece. The assembly of this bench pushed his technical resolution and machining skills to a whole new league. The shorter spanner of the top frame of this bench was turned down to a 0.001" tolerance so that they could be frozen (using dry ice(cool)) and then permanently embedded into their associated room-temperature sockets once their temperatures equalize. Basically the perfect friction fit. hubba-hubba

The legs themselves are threaded into the bench top and can therefore be removed for transport or unscrewed a little to level the bench and prevent rocking on uneven surfaces.

I put together the leather cushion on top and am completely delighted by the knurled screw on buttons that we designed in the 11th hour of the production of this piece to hold the cushion in place.
