If I'm being completely honest with myself, the Ram Heads are my favorite pieces from our 2025 Saturn return show at SG even though we never sold a single one. We set out to design a hat rack, but I am ashamed to say we don't actually own any cowboy hats so that idea never really flushed out. I laugh even trying to explain the reason we felt absolutely compelled through multiple iterations to keep pushing these along. I'm also minorly insecure with how whimsical these ended up. Modern architectural design training teaches us that form should follow function; and that's absolutely not the case here so I suppose these crossed the line from design into art or sculpture. Which, in a way, made them feel rather self-indulgent to fabricate and display.

But I also think they hold all our most critical design dna.. the abstraction, playfulness, and connections, offsets and endings all feel true to something deeper. These are tremendously sentimental to me for a lot of reasons but the first and foremost are these:

They remind me of a few very important aires in my life, a totem for a few that gave me the very best tough love.

I love the pictures I took of Cade and his dad putting these together. The memory they hold for me is of a warm, wonderful Saturday at the shop.

They remind me of my home and my dad, a taxidermist, who thinks these are pretty cool too.
